ADELE ANG
FOUNDER OF BODYMAP

PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Adele Ang is a registered physiotherapist with over 25 years of experience. Her clinical experience included being a physiotherapist at Singapore General Hospital and Singapore Sports Council working with national swimmers, track and field athletes, tennis, badminton, and water polo players. She moved on to private practice working in Singapore Sports Medicine Centre seeing a wide range of recreational athletes as well as individuals who are limited in their physical capacity due to pain.

She started Bodymap Pte Ltd to help people who have persistent pain despite having received treatments and/or surgeries for their conditions. She created the Bodymap Pain-Coaching Systems (BPS) which combines physiotherapy with pain coaching to provide a complete and holistic approach to helping people with persistent, ongoing pain, especially back and neck pain, headaches, and migraines.

Research shows that many of such ongoing pain is not adequately addressed by taking medication, having injections or surgical procedures, and can persist despite such treatments. Pain science tells us that persistent ongoing pain is a product of an interaction between our minds and our bodies, and not just a problem that lies in the body. Receiving physical treatment such as acupuncture, chiropractic adjustments, and massage therapy are helpful, but typically shortlived. Including exercises and strategies targeted at the mind provides much more lasting and permanent results. Receiving physiotherapy and pain coaching simultaneously is the best practice based on available scientific evidence for ongoing pain. Adele is available for a free 30 min phone consultation to determine if BPS is suitable for you. For more information, please refer to her website at Bodymap.
