ANNA TONG
EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST

CERTIFIED STRENGTH & CONDITIONING SPECIALIST

Anna is an Accredited Exercise Scientist (ESSA) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) who holds a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science from Edith Cowan University with close to 10 years of experience in private practices, including Singapore Sports Medicine Centre. She is also currently the head coach of Nanyang Polytechnic Kendo Club.
Working in a multidisciplinary sports medicine centre, Anna has managed various patients with conditions ranging from chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity to musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Anna also works with athletes for performance enhancement and injury prevention through physiological assessments, strength and conditioning, and preventive rehabilitation.
Being a national representative for Singapore Kendo, Anna has participated and won in various international competitions. The experience has allowed her to understand the challenges that athletes encounter and the requirements to perform.
Aside from clinical and sports performance experience, Anna was involved in running a corporate health and wellness program, supporting and encouraging a holistic approach to the employees’ well-being. Anna believes education and awareness are the key to improved health care and performance.
Anna is also an Accredited Lv 1 Anthropometrist (ISAK) and Accredited Lv 1 Sports Trainer (SMA).
